“How It’s Made” – Vinyl Records

Here’s a really, really cool video from The Discovery Channel’s “How It’s Made” about vinyl records.  It’s a pretty insane process to wrap your head around, but they do an amazing job of explaining it.  Since they won’t allow embedding, you’ll have to check it out at YouTube.com.

  1. This was an awesome post. I love how precise the process is. I once saw an old Voice-O-Graph booth at an antique store where you can get in, pay a quarter, and actually record a six inch of your voice. The booth actually produces vinyl within it’s own mechanisms. Really awesome.
