The Numero Group Presents “Light: On The South Side”

Last year while flipping through the Chicago Tribune, some friends of the Numero Group label came across the photography of Michael Abramson.  Between 1975-1977, Abramson (a lanky white guy) would hit Chicago’s South Side nightclubs with a camera and a strobe light, taking dozens of photographs of the crowd.  The fine folks at Numero have turned over 100 of his beautiful photos into a 12″ x 12″, 132 page, hardcover book.  It also comes with a 2xLP full of the funky blues that these clubs played.  The records come in a sharp gatefold with a ton of liner notes, and the whole package is over 2″ thick.  PLUS the first 250 orders will receive a signed/numbered print by photographer Michael Abramson, and the first 1000 orders will receive a bonus 7″, never to be repressed.  This doesn’t hit the shelves till November, but if you order now, you’ll get the soundtrack in MP3 form (first 250 orders) and your package will ship in September.  All of this for only $60.  Buy them up at NumeroGroup.com.
