Risil, Acid Mothers Temple, Tongues of Mount Meru – 3 New Important LPs
About time for Important to release a slew of new vinyl titles. Three new albums this time, the star of the show being Non Meters Volume One by Risil, though its safe to say its keeping good company. Risil is a supergroup of sorts, featuring as it does members of Tortoise, Battles, Prefuse 73, Savath & Savalas, School of Seven Bells and Hella. If that doesn’t sell you then you are absolutely hopeless. This is the first of three forthcoming volumes and is an RTI pressed 2xLP on 200 pieces of clear vinyl / 800 pieces of black. Also a new 2xLP from Acid Mothers Temple called Dark Side of the Black Moon: What Planet Are We On? featuring what looks to be amazing gatefold packaging by Seldon Hunt. Yep, more vinyl from those guys. The third release is a bit more mysterious – a debut album from Tongues of Mount Meru (aka Lasse Marhaug and Jon Wesseltoft) who have ties to the noise and black metal scenes and present here an album of longass drones called The Ocean of Milk. Usual batch of weird goodness from this highly reputable label. Listen to more soundclips and order up at importantrecords.com.
