24-Carat Black “Gone: The Promises of Yesterday” LP

24-Carat Black put out “Ghetto:  Misfortune’s Wealth”, one of the most legendary records in the world – to crate diggers that is.  Sadly, that was the only album the group ever released.  In the mid 70′s they set out to record a sophomore album, but lack of interest and increasing studio bills killed the project.  The music sat on tapes and got mostly ruined, except for the six songs that Numero Group dug up for this release.  This is a lot darker than your average Stax soul and funk.  The LP comes beautifully packaged in a black-on-black embossed jacket.  At only $18, this one is a steal.
