The fine folks at Three Lobed Records have two very interesting new releases up for preorder.  First up is D. Charles Speer & The Helix “Distillation”.  This is a different kind of release for sure, it is pretty much a perfect blend of country and psychedelia.  Beautiful Americana flavored stuff here.  It will be released in a one-time edition of 900 RTI-pressed LPs with Stoughton gatefold sleeves.  You will receive MP3′s of the album, plus if you order before October 23, you’ll have the option of adding a glass-mastered CD of a live set in St. Paul, MN.  This one is $19 shipped, and it can be preordered at ThreeLobed.com.

The second new release comes from Steve Gunn.  “Boerum Palace” is chock full of beautiful acoustic guitar work and quiet vocals, but definitely fits right in with the other music we cover here.  Fans of James Blackshaw should probably like this stuff, as Gunn can play with the best of them.  Like the other new Three Lobed release, this one is an RTI-pressed LP with a Stoughton gatefold sleeve.  It will be pressed in a one-time edition of 800, comes with MP3′s, and allows buyers the option to add a glass-mastered CD of rarities.  Same deal, $19 shipped.  Preorder at ThreeLobed.com.
