Boris “Japanese Heavy Rock Hits V.1″ 7-inch Series

Well this is either going to be completely awesome or totally retarded, depending on how jaded you have become towards Japan’s unapologetic and unabashed psych-fuzz, doom-pop rockers. You probably already knew this was coming, but now you can actually plop your hard earned money down on this 3-part 7″ vinyl series from Boris on Southern Lord. Did I say 3-part? Well, if you pay for it all up front, you get a bonus 7″ bringing your total to 4 pieces of 7″ vinyl. Boy and how! Not really much room for debate here folks, you can buy each 7″ for $6.33 or all four for $18. Or you can just sit in your room and listen to whatever bands you deem “cooler”. Fine by me. Tonight, The Lord shall recieve my tithes. Give thanks at southernlord.com.

UDPATE: The 4×7″ set is SOLD OUT. The first three individual 7″s will still be available for purchase on the Southern Lord site.

EDIT: First of all, look at that cover. Second of all, I could have been clearer in pointing out this is a series, meaning that you will receive these 7″s separately, spread out over a few months. Read more here.

  1. Whoa! Thanks for the heads up. Wasn’t aware of this one yet, and I scour the net pretty regularly trying to stay ahead of Boris releases since they’re often fairly limited and need to be ordered early. Can’t wait to start getting these.

  2. Some pics of the packaging up on O’ Malley’s blog. Atsuo’s cover leaves me feeling a bit… um. No complaints on Wata, though. Way to please the masses, I suppose.

  3. Atsuo is so good he can do whatever he wants in my book. Artwork looks like classic O’Malley stencily liney thingys.
