Three New 7″s from Ernest Jenning Record Co.
Ernest Jenning Record Co. just sent over three awesome new 7″s from their catalog, and I thoroughly enjoyed each. This seems like a label that is well-curated and really knows what they are doing. First up, Houston McCoy’s “No Art Vol. 1″ is a thick slab of lo-fi, heavy prog-rock. They reference bands like King Crimson and Trans Am in their bio, and that’s totally right on. It is limited to only 300 copies, comes on colored vinyl, and is only $3. If you buy only one record from this post, have this be it. Visit ErnestJenning.com.
Secondly, I threw on Blood Warrior’s “Darling Eyes” 7″. This band features members of O’Death, and you can definitely tell, it’s got the same straight-forward rock with a nice bit of “twang” from the hills. This one comes in a hand-sewn sleeve (there are actually five different covers), is on colored vinyl, has an edition of 300, and is also only $5. ErnestJenning.com.
The last record we got was Kudrow’s “Lando” 7″. I’ll be honest and say that I don’t know much about punk rock at all, but this should please anyone stopping by from Vinyl Collective, Dead Format, or any of the other punk rock boards. It is a perfectly competent slab of melodic punk. It’s on colored vinyl, has an edition of 500, and is $5. ErnestJenning.com.
