I recently chastised fellow contributor Spencer aka NudeMutant for not telling me about this album sooner, it is seriously some HOT SHIT.  Bohren & Der Club of Gore’s “Dolores” is now getting a proper vinyl release from the fine folks at Hydra Head.  Despite having an awful name, this band plays some insanely good “dark jazz” or “doom jazz” or whatever you want to call it.  Comparable to the Kilimanjaro Darkjazz stuff we’ve talked about before.  Heady, atmospheric, and just easily lovable.  The 2xLP comes on Black, Peat Moss, or Churned Butter colored vinyl for $20.  You can order via “Chel’s List” at ChelVanin.com.

Also available is “Hirror Ennifer”, a beautiful record from Mamiffer.  This band is centered around Faith Coloccia and husband/Isis frontman Aaron Turner (collectively known as “Faaron”).  I would describe this as “soothing sounds for metalheads”.  It’s something you should throw on to put your black-fingernail-polish-wearing girlfriend in the mood for love.  The LP has screenprinted packaging, comes on Clear or Smoky Translucent vinyl, and is $20.  Visit ChelVanin.com.
