If These Trees Could Talk – “Above The Earth, Below The Sky” LP Preorder
Here’s the deal with post rock, you either really love it, or you really hate it. Judging from the email reactions to records like Glaciers, I’d say a lot of you guys probably like it. Mylene Sheath has just launched the preorder for the vinyl release of If These Trees Could Talk’s “Above The Earth, Below The Sky”. Despite their stereotypical post rock band name, they actually play some pretty dense tunes, sometimes exploding into Pelican-like heaviness. The LP comes on translucent mint green vinyl (edition of 300, the more limited ice blue already sold out) for $12. Visit MyleneSheath.com.

awesome label run by cool peeps
This album actually went on sale almost a month ago. I was able to score me a blue copy. Pretty good album, awesome label too. Joel and Lindsay are good people.
really? the whole time i was expecting them to buts into van halen’s. “right now”
or something like that, i’d call this recycled rock more so than post rock
let’s be gay and split hairs about rock music genres
Believe it was more a jab at the tune then an attempt at genre specification. Bit of a “butt rock” man myself, so I wouldn’t actually know.
wow a little late to the game, but better late than never,
I think this is one of the most relevant bands in music right now just like all the bands on tMS.
Post-Rock is possibly the best genre of music calling it recycled is pretty lame.
“i’d call this recycled rock more so than post rock”
lmao… whatever.
I’ve had this one for awhile now and still listen regularly. One of my favorite releases from this year by any band.
Glad to see it pressed to wax. Just placed my order. Thanks for the heads up, NM. Very cool.
Yeah, noone ever accused us of being on the cutting edge of post rock releases. Luckily we have readers that give us the heads up on this stuff. Better late than never.
acting like you were never into post-rock or whatever is the 2009 version of acting like you were never into sassy screamo in 2005
i was underneath the pacific ocean from 2002-2006, so i have no idea what you’re talking about.
i don’t know anything about post rock, just that the track listed could have been laid down as the basis of any late hair metal soft ballad from when i was kid
glad to see some more people posting though.
glad I love this site and the fact that you feature a great release that I know of means I can trust your judgement even more
I am still into screamo 2009…
“i was underneath the pacific ocean from 2002-2006″
That’s quite apparent, palehighway.
do i still smell like submarine?
i loved glaciers and this is awesome. had to buy.
