Thrill Jockey just dropped a bomb of new vinyl releases.  We stand by our statement that they are one of the best labels in the world, and you’re about to see why.  The first release is “Boca Negra”, the new LP from Chicago Underground Duo.  If you’re not familiar, the Chicago Underground family has been around for quite awhile, setting the windy city afire with their improvisational avant-garde jazz.  The new record was recorded in Brazil, and it features an Ornette Coleman cover.  Nuff said.  The vinyl has alternate artwork and a tiny edition of 500, all for only $13.  Visit ThrillJockey.com.

Next up are the otherworldly sounds of Pit Er Pat.  Their new record, “The Flexible Entertainer”, is a more stripped-down effort, mainly focused around guitar, voice, and the fabled Akai MPC2000.  Thrill Jockey is doing their damndest to recommend that you listen to this one at high volumes, so keep that in mind.  The LP is limited to only 500 copies, and is priced at $13.  Same spot, ThrillJockey.com.

Lastly, they have a new record out by Robert A.A. Lowe (aka Lichens) and Rose Lazar (visual artist).  “Eclipses” is the only one of these new releases that I haven’t heard in full, and it is probably also the most interesting to me.  From what I can tell, this is a beautiful, dynamic composition, lovingly crafted on analog synthesizers.  You can hear the audio clips on the website and decide for yourself.  As with past releases like the Lokai record or “Sycamore”, I’ll be taking my chances on this one without even hearing it, and I’m sure Thrill Jockey will repay the favor with an amazing album.  This one is LP-only, and limited to 750 copies.  Again, ThrillJockey.com.
