A Giant Load of New Records from Woodsist

Wow, this is an insane load of new records from the always-awesome Woodsist label.  The first (and most exciting) release is the debut full-length album from the Wooden Shjips side-project, Moon Duo.  This project has a much stronger krautrock influence than the Shjips stuff, but should still quench your thirst for some otherworldly grooves.  $15 shipped in the USA at Woodsist.com.

This jam is from one of their previous EPs, but you get the idea:

The second new record is from The Art Museums, a band I don’t know too much about.  What I do know is that it features Glenn Donaldson of Skygreen Leopards, and they play some really nice jangly psychedelic rock, hearkening back to a classic British sound (but with a modern sun-drenched bedroom aesthetic, and even some “new wave” influence).  Enough blabbing, you can hear some tunes at their MySpace.  “Rough Frame” is available on vinyl for $15 shipped at Woodsist.com.

The third release is a new 7″ EP from Woods.  I haven’t heard this, but I’ll go ahead and assume I’m going to hear big jams with a crazy falsetto, sound about right?  Three new songs that will probably totally rule, one-time pressing of 1,500, $7 shipped at Woodsist.com.

The last release is a recent reissue of the S/T record from Magic Lantern.  These guys are one of my favorite psych bands going today.  This outfit includes Cameron Stallones aka Sun Araw, who is also getting some heavy play on my turntable lately.  Like the others, this one is $15 shipped at Woodsist.com.
