Five New Braid Vinyl Reissues (Plus The New Aloha Record)
I guess this is the week for hugely influential 90′s post-hardcore, huh? Polyvinyl has put up a preorder for FIVE new vinyl reissues by the legendary Illinois band, Braid. The pack includes “Frankie Welfare Boy Age Five” (2xLP, 180 gram white vinyl, edition of 700), “The Age of Octeen” (LP, 180 gram blue vinyl, edition of 700), “Movie Music Vol. 1″ (2xLP, 180 gram red vinyl, edition of 700), “Movie Music Vol. 2″ (2xLP, 180 gram orange vinyl, edition of 700), and “I’m Afraid of Everything” (7″, mixed color vinyl, edition of 1,000). Oh, speaking of Daniel Danger, while you’re there, you can pick up Aloha’s new album “Home Acres”, which Danger did the artwork for (which is seriously stunning, check this out). This record is great, with some moments of sheer pop bliss, and others that are louder and faster than any of their previous work. It sounds different than their past records, but is still decidedly Aloha. The LP can be ordered on 180 gram black vinyl for only $12, or 180 gram dark red vinyl (edition of 700) for $14. Again, PolyvinylRecords.com.
