New Shearwater, Ted Leo, and Harlem Records from Matador

I know Spencer wrote about the Pavement records yesterday, but Matador just dropped a load of other good stuff too.  First up is the new album from Okkervil River offshoot, Shearwater.  “The Golden Archipelago” is another beautiful, operatic piece of indie rock.  If you’re into this sort of thing, it will sweep you off your feet and lull you into submission.  The LP comes with two bonus tracks, and if you order it today, it only costs $15.30.  Visit MatadorRecords.com.

The second release is the brand new album from Ted Leo And The Pharmacists, titled “The Brutalist Bricks”.  You should know Ted Leo’s sound by now:  Fast, catchy rock songs, perfect for the summer months.  The LP on this one costs $15.30 till March 9th.  Again, MatadorRecords.com.

The third and final release is “Hippies”, the new album from Austin, TX’s Harlem.  Being signed to Matador has given the band’s garage-rock a fuller, more realized sound, the sort of maturation that Kurt Vile’s work has undergone at Matador.  This one doesn’t drop till April, but you can preorder it now for $15.30 at MatadorRecords.com.
