April 17th, 2010 “Record Store Day”
This is the one I warned you guys about, the one where you have to leave the basement and venture out into the world: Record Store Day, in the year of Our Lord 2010. Major and boutique labels are certainly sparing no expense (or markup) when it comes to pressings from sales-friendly groups like Sonic Youth, Mastodon and Modest Mouse; but you can also pick up plenty of good shit from super indie labels like Sub Pop and Matador. Some releases won’t make the list and you likely won’t know about them until you walk into your favorite local shop come Saturday morning.
