Prince Rama “Shadow Temple” LP
I’m a fairly recent Prince Rama convert, having only fallen in love with them after their Animal Image Search record. This new one, however, sounds downright fucking amazing. “Shadow Temple” is the best thing they’ve ever done, plain and simple. If there’s a limit to how good psychedelic Hare Krishna music can get, this just might be it. From the locations it was recorded (Kurt Vonnegut’s grandson’s cabin and a 135-year-old haunted church), to the folks that recorded and produced it (Rusty Santos and Animal Collective members Avey Tare and Deakin), to the recording itself, the ablum is pretty much perfect. They’re newly signed to the Paw Tracks label and ready for weirdo stardom, jump on this train (relatively) early while you still can. We can’t recommend this one more, it’s essential. Preorder the vinyl for $14.99 now at Insound.com.
