A New Batch of Records From Not Not Fun

Updated 09/14/2013: On Patrol has been reissued by Drag City. That’s awesome news! Pick it up at dragcity.com.

It’s no secret that Not Not Fun is one of our favorite labels in the world.  It’s also no secret that we are giant fans of Cameron Stallones’ Sun Araw project, so today is a good day.  The new full-length, “On Patrol”, is an album I’ve been feverishly anticipating.  After spending a few days with it, I can honestly say that it is as good as anything Stallones has done before.  Dubbed-out, beached-out, psyched-out, weirded-out, this shit is the real deal.  If your family doesn’t already think you do drugs, they will after overhearing this record.  The 2xLP is kinda heftily priced at $22, but I’m sure you’ve spent more money on less adventurous stuff before.  Limited to 800 at NotNotFun.com.

Next up are two new releases from another Stallones band, Magic Lantern.  I haven’t had the privilege of hearing these yet, but I’m willing to bet they are both loud, hot, mind-altering guitar burners.  Everything else this band has put out has been top-notch, so it isn’t much of a gamble.  In fact, you can hear an excerpt at their MySpace page.  The new full-length LP, “Platoon”, is limited to 700 copies and costs $13.  The new “Showstopper” 7″, recorded in the same sessions, is limited to 500 and costs $5.  They’ve also restocked a few previously sold out records.  Visit NotNotFun.com.
