Jim Guthrie “Sword & Sworcery – The Ballad of the Space Babies” LP + Cassette

Well, this is just awesome. Any videogame nerds among you will likely recognize the artwork for Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, truly one of the finest games to come out on Apple’s App Store last year (or ever?). Everything about it is amazing, from the artwork to the gameplay to the music. That last point being key here, as you can now buy that music on vinyl and/or cassette format. The soundtrack was completed by Jim Guthrie, and not only is it out-of-this-fucking-world fantastic but it also features a tune called “Doom Sock” which is what I will likely be naming my first child. Thanks, Jim. Anyways, this stuff is a little pricey, but we definitely encourage you to show support if you can! Buy the game, buy the soundtrack… at the very least, go stream it at jimguthrie.bandcamp.com.

  1. Fantastic. But daaaaamn is that expensive. It’s the Canadian shipping that kills it. Gonna have to save up… or just play the game on my iPod again, which is never a bad idea.
