Neko Case “Middle Cyclone” LP

Indie rock and alt-country darling Neko Case has a brand new record coming out.  The “Middle Cyclone” LP seems to be mostly floating around the UK (or in the US at pretty dumb prices), but Normann Records has it for only £12.99.  If you’re in a hurry to grab this one, this is the best price I’ve seen on it yet.  Visit NormannRecords.com.

  1. Is there any indication that there will eventually be a U.S. vinyl edition of this record?

  2. neko case could jump on my ride anytime she likes

  3. I’d just hold off for a bit, Seth. A US release it bound to come along.

  4. Cool, thanks Jon!

  5. According to Jon Strickland over at ANTI, “Middle Cyclone” will receive a proper US vinyl release sometime in May.

So yeah, hold out and stimulate OUR economy!

  6. has anybody rated the quality of this recording?
i have two others (fox confessor and the tigers have spoken) and i find them almost unlistenable in vinyl format. they are both colored vinyl (one clear blue, the other white), but there’s a clip on the high end (and especially pronounced on “ss”)… I passed up “blacklisted” last eve because of this…

i’m curious if it’s a mastering issue, or my setup (though, on my setup, things like wilco, eno, and such sound amazing, so i’m inclined to believe it’s either mastering or the quality of vinyl).

anyone give a listen yet or experience the same issues on others?
