The last few years have been really exciting for electronic music. New genres have formed, fresh sounds have emerged, and the youngest of prodigies bask in the international spotlight. Enter Nicolas Jaar, a 20-year-old Chilean-born New Yorker that has quickly built a dedicated fanbase over the past couple of years. His debut full-length, “Space Is Only Noise”, is unquestionably one of the best electronic albums you’ll hear this year, or last year, or next year. There are moments of extreme ambiance, piano ballads, jazz, lounge, and, above all, expertly-crafted house and techno. It’s quite the record, give it a listen, you’ll almost certainly love it (regardless of how you usually feel about the aforementioned genres). I’ve spent about a week fully digesting it, and it only gets better on repeated listens. This kid is about to break out in a huge way, don’t miss it. You can get it on vinyl for the outrageously low price of $12.99 at

  2. That is a bummer. Sold out on pre-order. Can’t they just increase how many they make?

  3. This is just one shop, I’m sure it will start showing up at more stores/distros soon.

  4. Thanks! Cuz after listening to that one track I did a bit of searching on the internet for other music by this cat and I am hooked! Good looking out, OMGVinyl!

  5. These reissues don’t have the best track that is only on first press vinyl… the uncleared sample track “I Got A”. Check it out!

  6. Yeah, if you can track down an original copy of this record, do it. “I Got A” was a definite standout and needs to be on the release.
